Festivus for the Rest of us

, 3.12.2011

Killarney, Killarney! This weekend we got to play at the Evanston Celtic Festival on the day we released our new Album, Pull the Knife. (Go here to order and download: www.killarney.bandcamp.com) We opened for Väsen, and Darol Anger & Mike Marshall. It was a really amazing concert.  Väsen's sound is so round and rich.

After the show, members of De Danann (including Alec Finn) and a bunch of people got together for a Session. It was really fun to be around such awesome players. The next day Mick Conneely gave me a few tips on Irish fiddling - new insights on ornaments and stuff. He's an incredible player and a very nice person.

We're playing at Green Street Pub at Trolley Square in Salt Lake City on St. Paddy's, so if you're near, you're invited.

We had grand plans for our Spring break, involving Mesa Verde or Florida or New Orleans or somewhere else cool.  But then I got sick and then Sam got sick.  We'll have to go somewhere warm after the semester is over... how about Kuwait?
